"Lest We Offend"

The Editor of my local newspaper, Jeff David, wrote this at the bottom of his latest editorial. I thought it was hilarious. :)

"I understand it is now considered objectionable in some quarters to wish someone a "Merry Christmas," lest we offend non-Christians. Therefore, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, and those of you who are offended can just have an unhappy one."

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Sounds about right... Not. This is exactly the kind of stuff evolutionists say all the time. Posted by Hello

A Great Christmas Day

We had a very nice day today. The temps are great (in the 20s-30s) and
we had everyone over here for Christmas. Andrea and I cooked and
everyone enjoyed. I think we had about 12 of us around the table for
lunch. This is the first time we've hosted the family Christmas
gathering and it was a success.

Did I tell you that I have the BEST wife? She got me a box set of ALL
THREE EXTENDED SETS of the Lord of the Rings. Woo hoo! :D :D :D

Wish you were here!

More Dogs than Babies?

Thanks to global efforts to destroy and prevent children, even Italy, once known as a land of bambinis, now has more dogs and cats than children. I believe it is time for Christians to stop thinking like the world and commit their fertility to the Lord.

"Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled." - and Other Country Wisdom

Forwarded by a friend. My favorite one is the second to last one (and the last one).

Country Wisdom:

Don't name a pig you plan to eat.

Life is not about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

A bumble bee is faster than a John Deere tractor.

Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled.

Meanness don't happen overnight.

Forgive your enemies. It messes with their heads.

Don't sell your mule to buy a plow.

It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You can't unsay a cruel thing.

Every path has some puddles.

When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

Most of the stuff people worry about never happens.

Don't squat with your spurs on.

Don't judge people by their relatives.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

Don't interfere with something that ain't botherin' you none.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

It's better to be a has-been than a never-was.

The easiest way to eat crow is while it's still warm.

The colder it gets, the harder it is to swaller.

If it don't seem like it's worth the effort, it probably ain't.

It don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep.

Sometimes you get and sometimes you get got.

The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you shave his face in the mirror every morning.

If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

Don't worry about bitin' off more'n you can chew; your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger'n you think.

Only cows know why they stampede.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there with ya.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in.

Never miss a good chance to shut up.

I ain't done, but that's enough for today, like I said, know when to shut up.

Islam shaping a new Europe = America Better Wake UP!

Yahoo! AP News - Islam shaping a new Europe: "By midcentury, at least one in five Europeans will be Muslim. That change is unlike other waves of immigration because it poses a more essential challenge: defining a modern Judeo-Christian-Islamic civilization. The West must decide how its laws and values will shape and be shaped by Islam.

For Europe, as well as the United States, the question is not which civilization, Western or Islamic, will prevail, but which of Islam's many strands will dominate. Will it be compatible with Western values or will it reject them?"

Will the real Christianity please stand up? Time to bring the unadulterated, non-watered-down, Truth to this nation.

Illegal to Display the President's Picture Publicly??

A city councilman in Lancaster County, Pa. wants a local merchant to
remove a photo of George W. Bush from a stall in a local market because
the image is offensive to local Democrats, reports the Lancaster New
Era
.
David Stoltzfus has had the president's image hanging in at his Central
Market baked-goods stand for a couple years now. He says it is there to
honor the office of president.
But City Councilman Nelson Polite wants the picture down. He says
political paraphernalia has no business on public property. Besides,
says the Democrat, "Bush didn't win here (in Lancaster City). It is like
rubbing salt on a wound."
Because Stoltzfus has so far refused to take down the image, Polite says
he will ask the city council to change the law so that all political
items would be banned in public places.

Sugar Daddy Bush

I'm really getting tired of our so-called "conservative" president, George W. "Sugar Daddy" Bush giving out millions and billions of U.S. tax payers' money to everybody and their grandmother's country--as long as they're not Americans.

What is he THINKING??? giving $20 Million Dollars to the Palestinian Authority??? Doesn't anyone learn anything from history? This is blood money. They're going to use it for more homicide bombings, mark my word.

Man I wish we had a better guy to vote for between the two jackasses who ran this past November. :( Republicans, of which I am one, are supposed to be moral AND fiscal conservatives! Sometimes I wonder which party this president thinks he's the head of.

Mixed Metaphors

"I haven't worked it all out yet," said Amber Brook, a young waitress. "I grew up in a Christian home, and I believe there's a right and a wrong. But I don't feel that gives me the right to impose my values on others."

This quote is from an article on SOBs (sexually-oriented businesses) that are popping up off of rural-American interstate off ramps everywhere. The above waitress is presenting a classic case of a "government-educated" values system. The situational ethics of secular humanism is what is ruling the minds of most young Americans.

What to do about this particular problem?

"These rural communities never thought they'd have to deal with what they perceived to be a big-city problem. So they were caught, as we say, with their ordinances down," said Scott Bergthold, a Tennessee lawyer who has built a career out of helping towns fight adult businesses.

Small communities, beware! Get your SOB-prevention ordinances now, before it's too late.

We've had this same battle here in Louisiana recently, and this has been the solution: Write the law before you need it.

As for the young waitress who thinks she can't impose her "Christian upbringing" on anyone, I hope she gets a reality check before she loses the right to her children's upbringing.
