Mixed Metaphors
This quote is from an article on SOBs (sexually-oriented businesses) that are popping up off of rural-American interstate off ramps everywhere. The above waitress is presenting a classic case of a "government-educated" values system. The situational ethics of secular humanism is what is ruling the minds of most young Americans.
What to do about this particular problem?
"These rural communities never thought they'd have to deal with what they perceived to be a big-city problem. So they were caught, as we say, with their ordinances down," said Scott Bergthold, a Tennessee lawyer who has built a career out of helping towns fight adult businesses.
Small communities, beware! Get your SOB-prevention ordinances now, before it's too late.
We've had this same battle here in Louisiana recently, and this has been the solution: Write the law before you need it.
As for the young waitress who thinks she can't impose her "Christian upbringing" on anyone, I hope she gets a reality check before she loses the right to her children's upbringing.
