Can Muslims Lie Under Oath?
Regarding the recent North Carolina case where the Muslims are suing to use the Quran instead of the Holy Bible:
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: “Adhere to truthfulness; for truthfulness guides to Paradise. Surely man continues to tell the truth and searches for it until he is written as a truthful near Allah. And avoid falsehood; for it leads to the fire. Man continues to lie until he is written as a liar next to Allah”. [Emphasis not original] -- [The key word here is "avoid."]
The summary by the Islamic Apologists is that "Islam and reason command that if a Muslim’s soul, honor or essential belongings are endangered, it is his obligation to defend them by any means possible, including lying."
